BC Hosts Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off Celebrations

911爆料网 was proud to host this week at the Panorama Campus, the Arvin Educational Center, BC Southwest, and Delano. The exciting festivities included musical performances, delicious food and guest speakers.
Dr. Stacey Pfluger, Interim President at 911爆料网, welcomed everybody to the celebration on the Panorama campus and spoke about the significance of the event. 鈥淎t 911爆料网, (Hispanic Heritage Month) holds meaning, not only because of the rich diversity on our campus,鈥 she shared, 鈥渂ut because we are proud to be a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution.鈥
Dr. Pfluger was followed by Johnny Nieto, Program Manager of the Native American Student Support and Success, and Doloros Huerta, civil rights activist. Both shared enthusiasm for the event and activities while stressing the importance of culture and diversity at BC and beyond.
The day continued with vibrant performances from a local folklorico dance group and mariachi band. The whole campus was abuzz, as the sound of music could be heard from the soccer field to the outdoor theater. Soon after, attendees were invited to sample the 鈥楾aste of Hispanic Culture鈥 appetizer bar, featuring a wide variety of dishes.
